Bought two of these to use in our basement as pantry space since our kitchen doesn't have a built in pantry. I'm glad they were for the basement! If they had been for the main floor of the house, I would have returned them. Several chips, nicks, and marred spots on the finish. Some of the pre-drilled holes were misaligned. This was most notable on the doors, which are crooked on one unit, and have a large gap at the top on the other. They will serve their purpose as food storage, but I would not buy these if you are looking for an attractive piece of furniture suitable for your kitchen. Disappointed in the craftsmanship and poor packaging/lack of protection. I knew these would be made of pressboard, and that I wasn't getting solid wood for the price. I guess I don't view that as an excuse for sloppy manufacturing and quality control. And, for the record, I view this as an issue with the manufacturer, not Hayneedle. I am thrilled with the service I received from Hayneedle.

Service and delivery comments:

Delivery was prompt. I wouldn't say they arrived in good condition, as there were several marks and marred or chipped spots, but I don't know if that was the result of shipping. Some of the marks were on pieces that were in the middle of the package and could only have been caused at the factory.

This was the most frustrating thing I have ever put together. The instructions were a bit difficult to follow, the material chipped and broke VERY easily and was flimsy by design. The worst part was, after three hours and getting everything put together other than the cabinets, I realized the two small cabinets were about an inch and a half too big to even fit in the space allotted. Waste of money!!!

The color matched my dinning room set. I purchase it because I have a small kitchen and needed extra cabinets. I use it to store extra can goods and dry goods. I am thinking about buying another one just like it. When I find a good sale on can goods I like to stock up and now I have somewhere to put those items until I use them.

This is an excellent product that will be used to store my overflow of gourmet kitchen appliances. Although the footprint is small, I put 13 full-sized appliances (ranging up to a Kitchen Aid stand mixer) in the shelves and have room for a couple more. The only suggestion would be to put slip-sheets between the parts to keep the finish from getting small chips and some type cushioning between the box and the surface to allow you room to cut the box to open (the parts were so tightly wedged into the box that they would not slide out). The instructions do not have many words, but the illustrations are so complete (including blow-ups of details) that you do not need words.
