Constructed of durable engineered wood (MDF) and real wood veneer, this contemporary kitchen island can only be found at Hayneedle. It features an easy-to-clean stainless steel countertop and a rich espresso finish. The modern style is accented with stainless steel drawer pulls that double as towel racks. One top drawer, two deep bottom drawers, and a spacious open shelf offer generous storage for pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and linens. Best of all, the island rolls to any location, thanks to four casters that rotate easily and lock in place when desired.
For your convenience, this espresso-finished Concord Kitchen Island can be ordered with two matching bar stools for quick breakfasts, snacks, and other on-the-go meals. I'm glad, once it was assembled, it appeared solid and easily moved around the area on the wheels provided. Will make a great beer pong table :) For fellow HD peeps, it matches Cognac cabinet coloring almost perfectly.I am a decent DIY and have the tools to match. This was an ANNOYING assembly. China, I love it. Scrutinize the instructions so you don't flip things in opposite directions, its [@] style with pictures more than words. The order they have you assemble the cart can prove potentially damaging when it comes to the final steps. It came missing screws for the top handle and I had to drill and re-attach a portion of the lower drawer that had flimsy staples to hold in place. Annoying, but beautiful once finished. Next are the stools, will need another 12 pack for those probably.

We received this piece [...] Soon after we found ourselves digging through the box and making sure that all the materials were included. All the pieces were found, however the main long drawer was scratched in several places in the front. Also, although the stainless steel top will scratch in the future, there were 2 very large scratches on it, despite the protective adhesive. Everything else was easy to assemble, a bit time consuming but the bottom of the long drawer did not fit in properly, I am guessing it was due to poor construction or quality issue. I did however manage to fit it in and complete assembly. Despite these problems, I am satisfied with the quality and look of this island.

We bought this almost a year ago and I still haven't seen anything I've liked this much for this price in this size. We have a contemporary kitchen and this is a beautiful quality piece that completes our room. We use this island for food prep and drinks every single day. I love it.
Also love that you can put the wheels on or off. We have them off right now, but the casters are great.

We just recently moved and searched high and low for an island for our new home.
We were very excited about this piece until we opened the box. There were 3 or 4 broken pieces in the main support panels. The quality was extremely poor. Cheap, cheap, cheap. It was nothing like the picture. Do not order this piece and if you do, remember how it goes back in the box for return. I will never look at Hayneedle again.

I have been trying to find a modern looking counter-height kitchen island table that could function as a semi-dining table since I am limited on space in my new condo. I was excited that I stumbled upon this piece. Ordering was a breeze - and I was very surprised it was shipped quickly via FedEx.
It was very well packaged and was really heavy trying to load it on a dolly. The only thing I would say is that, despite the really good packaging, some of the corners of my "stainless steel" table top were slightly bent/dented... just a tad. I am extremely picky about detail and noticed that firstly, but it is something I could forget about easily. There were no scratches or dents in the remainder of the pieces.
Assembly took me 2-3 hours alone, my best guess by the number of Glee episodes I had gone through while building it. Building the drawers was easy. They are not as heavy-duty as I would have hoped, so you can't put pots and pans in the bottom drawer or anything really heavy (i.e. fiberboard support). The difficult part was when trying to put together the frames/support and the stainless steel top piece. The instructions aren't that clear at this point, and they kind of mesh all the instructions into one last page. I ended up not following the rest of the confusing instructions and just trying to figure it out myself. Having figured it out at the end, the end product looks amazing and matches closely to my cabinetry. I decided to leave off the casters for now. There is a film on the stainless steel table top and it gets annoying once you try and peel it off.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Purchased this a year ago - I like to see how things hold up before posting a review. Assembly was pretty simple albeit a lil time consuming. Sadly the stainless top was banged up a bit on one corner, which we didn't realize til we assembled the whole thing and peeled off the protective tape. All that aside, it was exactly what we needed storage wise in our tiny NYC apartment. It holds all of my pots and pans, spices, cutting boards, cutlery, teas, cooking wraps, placemats and then some. The drawers are very sturdy and the coasters glide smoothly without scratching my flooring. It looks good too, which is important since I have an open kitchen living room design. The finish and drawers have held up very well. Looks as good as new. Highly recommend this cart and the comfy matching stools.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
