The Beauty and Benefits of Rubberwood: Hailing from the maple family of trees, the rubber tree is used in the manufacture of high-end furniture. It is valued for its dense grain, minimal shrinkage, attractive color, and acceptance of different finishes. It is also prized as an "environmentally friendly" wood, as it makes use of trees that have been cut down at the end of their latex-producing cycle.

We were using a small kitchen cart as an "island" to make more counter space. This is definitely an upgrade. It's like a very very big kitchen cart and certainly has the most counter top work space in the price range that we could afford ($250-$350). My husband has been assembling it for about 2 hours and has yet to scream in frustration...a very good sign! He's very happy with the heavy duty hardware and the thickness of the wood. We both agree that we would have preferred two large doors instead of the two small doors with the open interior space because the baby will be pulling everything out. But in a year or so I guess it won't be a real problem. There is also an overhang on the back so you can use 2 bar stools with it. Overall we're happy with this purchase and would recommend it to other budget-conscious buyers.

Only two locking wheels isn't enough to keep it from moving. Fairly easy to assemble, but the drawer sliders needed to be lowered so that the drawer top doesn't hit the top. Also had to remove and trim one of the drawer side frame pieces so that the drawer width would fit. Top was shipped with a crack in a section of the top.

Comments about Napa Kitchen Cart:
This cart is great! I read through tons of reviews on many carts before purchasing and am so happy I settled on this one. My husband put it together fairly quickly with no issues at all. The wood is very sturdy and it's easy to move around the kitchen. I previously had items stored in the basement, but now this houses my Kitchenaid mixer, juicer and food processor and has plenty of storage space below as well. Now I can use my appliances more often. Highly recommend this cart!

Comments about Napa Kitchen Cart:
The only negative thing I would say, is that when assembling the unit, we were missing two pre-drilled 1/2 holes that the top set down onto. We had to purchase a 1/2 inch spade type drill bit and drill our own holes in order to allow the small doll rods to fit into place.
Also had to re-adjust the drawer slides, as the top of the drawer was hitting the bottom of the top of the unit.
Took us approximately 4 hours to put together, but we think it was worth the effort.

Comments about Napa Kitchen Cart:
My son needed counter space in his Chicago apt. and this fit the bill. Assembly instructions were simple and easy to read. You will need an extra set of hands to hold things at the beginning of assembly. One person can handle it after getting started. A very good quality piece. Very solid and heavy. The only complaint would be that the locking castors do not really hold the unit well.

Comments about Napa Kitchen Cart:
Sturdy solid wood construction.
Some parts look like processed wood but not where it matters.
Read instructions thoroughly or you may assemble it with some parts interchanged.
One door would not close properly but easily fixed by shimming the hinge where it screws onto the panel.

Q1: What is rubberwood?
A: Rubberwood is part of the maple family and one of the most durable and ecologically friendly woods used today for furniture manufacturing. Rubberwood is a hardwood and has very little tendency to warp or crack. As part of the maple family, rubberwood has very little shrinkage, which makes it a stable piece of lumber.
