I use the product for extra work space when preparing meals. The fact that it has storage is a plus. I keep most of "go to" items that I use in preparing meals in the drawers and cabinets.

I read several review regarding assemble. I agree that assembly is time-consuming, I'm not sure what people were expecting. There are lots of parts so it is going to be time consuming. I strongly hate putting things together (usually mfg errors, bad instruction, etc). This was very simple. I started by putting all the items in an alphabetical order that way I wasn't hunting for the parts. I took my time and was still done in 4 hours, including 30 minutes to unpack and sort all the parts.

I knew it was going to be time consuming (I read the reviews), but really this was very simple. All the instructions were very clear and the parts and pieces went together as planned. The mfg did a nice job of lining all the pre-drilled holes.

I could have rated this a 5, but that would be "perfect" and I don't think there is anything "perfect" in the world.

There was a review about some screw being too short. They corrected this! There was a packet of replacement screws telling me which part these screws replace and what steps. Very cool that they corrected the problem and made it clear that they did recognized and corrected the problem.

Again, take you time putting it together. Set aside 5 hours and you won't get stressed. At the end of the project, you will proud of yourself and you will have a nice quality portable kitchen island.

When I received the cart in that flat box, I started to dred putting all of those pieces together. But really it wasn't hard. Although you will need two people. The only complaint I have it that the wood top is rough, flat, I don't know how to explain it. But in other words I feel as if I need a coat of poly eurothane on it. Other than that I am very happy with my purchase. It is beautiful.
