Description

The Madison Cart is constructed of solid Chinese rubberwood with a natural finish, lots of cabinet space, and a large countertop with a fold-down breakfast bar. When the bar is up, it adds an additional 12 inches of space to the countertop; perfect for sit-down meals. This cart also features locking heavy duty rubber casters, a paper towel bar, a spice rack, and a towel rack.

The cart arrived via UPS in good shape so I would say the packing is adequate if not perfect.

As I began to unpack it, I was at first over whelmed with so many parts and pieces. After unpacking, I looked at the directions which are easy to understand. I big bonus is that every part is labeled and keyed to the instructions. This made the assembly soooo easy. It took about 1 1/2 hours to do the total assembly. The drawers take more time than the body of the cart. I would recommend a power screw driver for the job. It makes it go much faster. There were additional parts in the bag for the occasion that you might lose or mess up a screw. The only glitch I ran into in the assembly was the left door magnet was not aligned properly to hold that door closed. After moving one part to align with the other the problem was solved.

The cart looks good and is surprisingly well made. The only con I have found with the cart is the support leg for the drop leaf. It is in contact with the floor so it makes moving the cart awkward. I would recommend the cart have a folding support that does not touch the floor to make it easier to move.

I am very pleased with this cart overall. It looks good and functions well for its intended purpose. I would recommend this cart to anyone but since there are models with drop leafs that do not touch the floor, I would opt for that instead.

I have assembled my fair share of furniture over the last 2 years, having moved into my first apartment, but this one takes the cake. The machining for the pieces was just terrible, add in some warped wood and it meant that I had to punch my own holes, sand down some existing ones, and curse frequently.

On to the good parts, this is a very attractive island that does exactly what I want, it provides some extra storage and a convenient place for my girlfriend and I to eat that isn't our coffee table.

I'm hoping this is a one off because people who don't have files/punches/sandpaper/a drill will have a difficult time building this. If you can get through the building process though, I think you'll really enjoy the island.

      I purchased this item nearly a year ago and I have received many comments. It is a good piece for my kitchen, only thing is I wish it came with casters instead of wheels, but even still it is a very attractive piece.

        I have assembled a lot of prefab furniture, and this item has to be the best ever. It is well engineered, very good quality, and easy to assemble. Instructions are clear and best of all, the hardware items are well labeled and individually packaged. My neighbor could not believe that I assembled the cabinet.it looks great !

        Q1: How big are the drawers?

        A: The top three small drawers meausre: 10W x 11D x 3H inches.  The large bottom drawer measures: 10W x 11D x 8H inches.

        Q2: What kind of wood is this made of?

        A: The cart is made entirely from rubbberwood. Rubberwood is a hardwood from the maple family of woods.

        Q3: How is the drop leaf supported?

        A: There is a leg that folds out from the back that supports the drop leaf.  This leg includes a leveler so it will sit evenly on any floor surface.  When not in use the leg folds flat against the back of the cart and the drop leaf folds down on top of it.
