The Milano Kitchen Cart is one of our top-rated, best-selling kitchen islands, and now you can customize it to suit your unique needs. This kitchen cart features expanded storage space for pots, pans, or small appliances. You'll also have the option to select two matching counter stools to complete your purchase. Perhaps best of all, this kitchen cart includes interchangeable wood knobs and metal hardware, as well as stationary legs and caster wheels. This versatile design allows you create the best configuration for your kitchen, and to refresh the appearance as you see fit.
The Milano Kitchen Cart will make a smart, stylish addition to your kitchen. It features a stainless steel countertop, which is an ideal surface for food preparation because it is non-porous, durable, and easy to clean. A drop leaf adds an additional 12 inches of work space to the countertop, and it's convenient for use as a breakfast bar or a buffet if you select the matching counter stools.
The leaf is supported by a swing-out arm, so the footprint of this cart remains manageable. The backside of the cart is fully finished so it looks great from every angle. Included with your purchase are both white-finished wood and stainless steel hardware, which can be switched out at any time. You'll also receive stationary legs and caster wheels (two locking), so you can decide on the best option for your kitchen.
Two utility drawers are the perfect place for storing spices or cooking utensils. Two cabinets offer remarkable storage space for pots and pans, cooking sheets, bowls, and more. Both cabinets feature adjustable shelves so you can make them work for you. Clean-up is never a problem, thanks to the built-in towel bar that keeps your towel in easy reach. A knife rack on the other ends means you'll never have a reason to step away from this cart while preparing food.

The island took a long time to assemble because there were so many pieces, but the directions and packaging were excellent. The only flaw I found was that one screw hole was misaligned, so that I had trouble sliding the back panels in. This may be why the drawers need a little shove to close completely.
The island is very attractive. My kitchen has no counters or cabinets, so I keep the drop leaf up all the time for extra counter space and a place to sit. It's been very useful so far. The island does have a funky chemical smell that I'm hoping will go away soon (it's been assembled for 3 days now).

We bought another island online in 2005 from another company and liked it a lot. When we needed an additional one for our second residence, we went online and bought this one. What a disappointment! While the overall design and size appeared to be the same, the quality is awful. This one has rough looking corners on the stainless top where it looks as if the manufacturer bent it poorly; and the wood thickness is thinner than our other one. Worst of all, though, is that rather than cutting full lengths of wood and then joining them only at the corners, tops and bottoms, the unit is made of mismatched wood pieces that are joined wherever they needed to be in order to make them fit. This means that each of the cabinet doors is comprised of at least 12 strips of wood, rather than the 5 you would expect. Then, to top it off, there are even wood putty patches in some areas covering the chips that some of the pieces must have had! I am a budget purchaser, but I still expect something that cost me so much to look like it's worth it. This one looks like a box store special that could be purchased for a fraction of what I paid for this one. If I could return this, I would.

Comments about The Milano Portable Kitchen Island with Optional Stools:
Attractive and functional design and most parts fit well, but...
Dowels and shelf pins don't fit in the holes. The hex wrench strips too easily. The stainless table top had numerous dents in it.

Comments about The Milano Portable Kitchen Island with Optional Stools:
This kitchen island is fantastic. Wife wasn't real sure about the purchase but after assembly and using it for a few days she now says it was a great purchase. Score one for the guys. The only issue was that I received 3 non locking casters and 1 locking caster instead of 2 of each. Notified customer service and they took care of me right away. My choice was to receive another unit and send back the one I have or they would credit my card so that I could get a replacement caster locally. I got a credit and got one locally. Now it is perfect. I am impressed by the quality of the uint and the stainless steel top. My concern was that the stainless steel top corners might have sharp edges but they are rounded very nicely. Is there better out there? Yes, but certainly not at this price. In order to get better you can expect to pay 3 to 4 times the price.

This island cart has an appealing look. Its relatively easy to assemble. Comes in allot of pieces. I honestly was expecting a little heavier built item considering the cost. It should serve the intended use.

Comments about The Milano Portable Kitchen Island with Optional Stools:
I did a lot of research looking for a kitchen island. I liked the look of the Milano, but I had read a few reviews that made me unsure of the end result. I was much happier than I expected. Yes, the assembly required time and attention, but only slightly more than furniture from Ikea. Each piece was labeled, diagrams were clear and extra pieces were provided. The end result was a solid-feeling piece in which each element fit together perfectly. And it looks great in my kitchen.

Comments about The Milano Portable Kitchen Island with Optional Stools:
I said this came as advertised. It took about 3 hours to put together (2 adults) and the instructions were pretty clear. It's very sturdy and it's easy to move around the kitchen. It arrived with all of the parts, although the drawer bottoms were slightly damaged (only cosmetic, and this is mostly masked after assembly). The doors don't quite line up, and I would be careful using a power tool to assemble. In one instance the screw broke while using the drill (I was able to remove it with a vice grip, and they provided extras of everything).
Overall, it's what I needed, and looks pretty good in the kitchen.
