Get even more storage and function with the Le Rustica II Kitchen Island. It features a base of maple that is painted black. The work surface is a four inch-thick butcher block made of American Cherry wood. This attractive wood is given a Varnique finish so it will look great for years. A checkerboard pattern is a prominent feature of the work surface. It is created by gluing the wood pieces as they stand on end. No rods or staples are used in the construction of the block.
Four legs have distinctive shaping at their top before they taper down to the decorative knob near the feet. A slatted shelf below is made of Cherry, and gives you open storage.
This island is available in your choice of sizes. The smallest size has one dovetailed maple drawer in front; the larger island has two drawers (as shown).
The combination of the light and dark wood makes an appealing addition to your kitchen as well making your kitchen more functional. Order the Le Rustica II Kitchen Island to create an endearing kitchen decor.

All butcher block products must be oiled on all surfaces with a natural mineral oil at least once a month to protect the wood.
With a minimum amount of care and maintenance on your butcher block, you can lengthen the life of the top from 5 to 10 years.
DO NOT:
- Wash knives and forks or other utensils on the work surface of your top
- Wash your top with harsh detergents of any type
- Cut off ends, drill holes, make cutouts or otherwise deface tops...without refinishing exposed unfinished wood. Gurantee is void if tops are modified.
DO:
- Periodically (once every several weeks), depending upon use and household conditions, apply a heavy coat of mineral oil to the work surface of your top
CAUTION: Do not place butcher blocks near excessive heat (such as stove) without proper insulation between heat source and edge of the butcher block.
You can help preserve your butcher block by keeping your home humidified in the winter and by refreshing your butcher block often with oil.
Cleaning your butcher block topWhen cleaning, we ask that the following directions be followed:
- First scrape loose with a steel scraper or spatula any heavy food particles or foreign matter that may have adhered to the surfaces.
- Brush or scrape all loose particles from the surfaces.
- Take a dish cloth and dip in warm soapy water, of a very mild detergent, and wahs the top the same as any other wood surface.
- Wash out dishcloth in clear warm water, wring out, and go over surface again.
- TAKE DRY CLOTH AND GO OVER ALL SURFACES TO DRY THOROUGHLY.
- An occasional application of mineral oil is recommended.
If any method, other than the one outlined above, is used in cleaning, very serious damage may result.
