Description

The Venture Horizon Bedford Kitchen Island with Hidden Trash Bin is a compact, mobile and efficient piece with handy features. It offers three roomy pantry shelves on one side and three generous cubbies on the other side above a bin that accommodates a standard 10-gallon waste basket (not included). Inner trash bin compartment is 19.876H x 11W x 15.25 D inches.  May we suggest the Rubbermaid Commercial bin #2957 as a perfect fit for this bin?

 

Additional features include a paper towel holder and two towel bars so you can always keep your food-prepping surface clean. Constructed from durable, easy-to-clean, stain-resistant, melamine-laminated particle board, this cabinet includes a solid hardwood butcher block top. Hidden casters behind a real hardwood skirt offer smooth and easy mobility. Assembly is quick and simple. Made in the USA.

If you are limited on space and are looking for something to either place a microwave or a place to hide that unsightly garbage can, look no further. This is the answer to small spaces that need that little stylish look. I use this as my microwave cart and the towel racks are an added bonus. I love the way the garbage bin works. This came unassembled and being 60 years old female, I thought I would have a problem putting it together. It was so easy to put together and the instructions were very clear. I would say it is very well constructed. I like the fact that it rolls very easy out to sweep under. I have not found anything that I don't like about this product.

One would expect more products like this to hide and store a kitchen plastic garbage can and be a microwave table too, all in a compact, portable size, but after searching the web, this was the only one I found. As others have noted, the assembly is tedious and time-consuming. But what's astonishing is that they designed it so a standard kitchen plastic waste can does not fit! If they made this product an inch wider, it would fit. After hours of assembly, the final kick in the teeth was having to cut the the top lips off the sides of my garbage can with a box cutter so it would fit in the compartment, being careful not to slice my fingers in the process. Maybe it was designed by a sadist.

    It took over 2 hours to assemble, but once done it was worth it. Take your time.

      Ok, this is a nice looking item, but you should know before you buy 1) I have been unable to find a "standard 10 gallon trash can". I have looked in [...], hardware stores..and I can only find 13 gal ones, that are either too wide or too tall. 2) bad instructions at the very end of the long tedious assembly. They give you the wrong letter for the part, and there are no holes drilled for the bottom hinge on one of the parts. So yes, its pretty... and once I cut down the only trash can I could find that was 14" across the bottom I'm sure I'll like it. But for now, its left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth.

      Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

        Since I have a very small kitchen this works beautifully for me! Great design for limited space! I love it, it hides the garbage pail plus has so much storage and workspace.
